Education Specialist Portfolio
Hello! Welcome! This website is a collection of materials and artifacts created while completing my education specialist degree in instructional technology. These items show my progress through the program and demonstrate that I have met the University of West Georgia’s Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards for technology coaches.
I am Elizabeth King, and I currently teach at a Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Support (GNETS) program in Griffin, Georgia. GNETS programs serve special education students who might otherwise require residential or other more restrictive placements due to the severity of one or more of the characteristics of the disability category of emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD). GNETS schools tend to be very small due to low student enrollment, so I am the high school science and ELA teacher, which keeps me busy! Even though I am a special education teacher, I love studying and practicing instructional technology so I can better prepare my students to be 21st century learners. More information about my education and work history can be found on my resume. My future goals outline where I hope to be,
professionally, in the next few years, while my reflections discuss my journey to this point.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy daydreaming, books, gardening, being curious, playing with my son, and reading Agatha Christie novels while I swing in a hammock and eat peanut M&Ms.
