Action Plan for Success

In this video I discuss common problems associated with online learning and suggest solutions on how best to address them. For this project, I am trying to convince an imaginary institution to hire me to support their faculty.

Grant Proposal

In this proposal, I seek funding via a PIE grant for a variety of educational website subscriptions and licenses, such as MobyMax, Flocabulary, and ABCMouse.

Reflection

Both of these projects increased my confidence in acting in a leadership role.and my ability to sell myself. The premise behind the action plan video was that I was interviewing for a position helping this theoretical institution to improve and support its online learning. This was incredibly timely since I took the class during COVID-19 enforced distance learning, so I was focusing on my own course design and trying to support my co-workers. Of particular interest to me was the development and communication of best practices because the establishment of what online teaching should look like gives people a goal, something to aim for, which can cut down on apprehension. The grant proposal was another opportunity for real-world leadership training and the project most applicable to my current workplace since those are websites the teachers at my school could really use. I’ve submitted an application for a PIE grant in the past and was awarded one, so I will be submitting it when the grant applications are open.
